1982-1983 Hand-wired Fender SuperChamp Paul Rivera. The amp is called the "Super Champ," not to be confused with modern "Super Champ X2" or "XD" amps, which have digital preamps. 1x10" Combo18 watt RMS -Features of the Rivera-era Super Champ: -Tube-based circuit: Unlike modern digital-modeling amps that share the name, the 1980s Super Champ is an all-tube, 18-watt combo amp. It uses two 6V6 power tubes and features a rare 6C10 tube. -Two channels: It has both a clean channel and a "lead" or overdrive channel that is foot-switchable. The gain for the lead channel is controlled by a separate "Lead Level" knob. -Pull-knob features: The amp has push/pull knobs for both the clean and lead channels. Pulling the volume knob activates the lead channel, while pulling the treble knob gives a mid-boost. -Other features: The amp includes spring reverb, a master volume control, and a 10-inch speaker. --Construction: The amp was hand-wired using point-to-point techniques, making it one of the last hand-wired amps Fender produced for some time. -Highly regarded tone: These amps are known for their great vintage Fender tone, along with the added flexibility of a solid overdrive channel. They are often viewed as a "best of both worlds" amplifier.
